Menopause-ExerciseMenopause & Exercise – Women’s Health

The natural changes in the body during menopause can make it difficult to want to exercise; our individualised resistance training programs take into account hormonal fluctuations to achieve the best physiological and psychological results. Menopause is very individual and different experiences for everyone in terms of severity, length of time and symptoms. The most common changes in the body that occur are weight gain, sleep disruptions, joint and muscle aches and pains, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, sleep disruptions, anxiety, fatigue and depression.

Exercise physiologists understand the effects these symptoms have on training and hence a very individualised program is created that is constantly monitored and adapted depending what symptoms are present. Studies show that the acute effects of exercise and long term adaptions from training that result from a specialised exercise training program provide a positive change on a majority of the symptoms of menopause.

At Envy Sports Science Clinic we create and develop individualised strength training programs to help reduce your risk of inactivity-related chronic disease and minimise the symptoms of menopause. We will be there every step of the way to help and encourage you with exercise adherence and to provide improvements in cardiovascular fitness, improvements in body composition, decreased anxiety and depression, and enhanced feelings of well-being.
